Over the past few years, one sport has exploded in popularity: pickleball.
But something unusual has also happened.
More and more people are walking into my clinic with the same story.
"I hurt myself playing pickleball."
Ankle injuries.
Hip pain.
Lower back pain.
Knee pain.
Shoulder pain.
Week after week... the same case.
At first, I thought it was just a coincidence.
But after seeing hundreds of similar movement patterns, I knew it was time for the Postural Detective to investigate.
🕵️ The Investigation Begins
A detective doesn't solve a case by guessing.
He goes to the scene.
So that's exactly what I did.
I went to the pickleball courts.
I didn't come to play.
I came to observe.
For hours I watched players move.
I watched beginners.
I watched experienced players.
I watched doubles matches.
I watched every serve, every sprint, every reach, every stop.
Every movement left another clue.
Slowly...
The mystery began to solve itself.
🔍 The Real Suspect
The pickleball court isn't the criminal.
The paddle isn't the criminal.
The ball isn't the criminal.
The real suspect is poor movement preparation combined with the unique movement demands of the game.
One of the biggest clues appears around the kitchen line.
Players often have to stop quickly, reach forward, rotate through the trunk, and recover rapidly without stepping into the non-volley zone.
These repeated movements place higher demands on:
✔ ankle stability
✔ hip mobility
✔ thoracic rotation
✔ balance
✔ core control
✔ reaction timing
If these areas are limited, the body begins compensating.
And compensation eventually becomes pain.
🚨 What We Found
Many players arrive on the court without ever checking:
• ankle mobility
• hip internal and external rotation
• thoracic spine mobility
• shoulder mobility
• balance
• single-leg stability
• reaction control
Instead...
They simply start playing.
The body eventually reaches its limit.
And that's when injuries happen.
🧠 The Postural Detective Solution
Before treating pain...
We investigate movement.
At LifeRX Physio Massage, every player is assessed from the ground up.
We examine posture.
Walking mechanics.
Hip mobility.
Ankle stability.
Thoracic rotation.
Balance.
Functional movement.
Only after identifying the weak links do we build a personalized treatment and movement plan.
Because the goal isn't simply getting you back on the court.
The goal is helping you stay there.
🎯 The Mission
Whether you're a beginner or a competitive pickleball player, your body deserves the same preparation as any athlete.
Assessment.
